Anthuriums like moist air, misty mild weather. They dislike full sun all day. Arums grow nicely next to a drain or a water tap which drips a bit. They dislike wind. I knew people in subtropical Durban who grew them for sale in well drained acid soil. They had them in about 50 cm high bricked up boxes under shade cloth. Some sun got to them of course. The taller the flower stems, the more expensive, they were. Anthuriums last a long time inside in a vase and are therefore worth their price. Yellow anthuriums are more rare, by the way.
