The Green Thumb Visiting a Flower Garden

Hello everyone! Wow, another week is finally here! February is  quite a not a boring month. There are a lot of things to do especially at home. My days are always busy inspite staying at home all the time.  I wish spring season is around the corner because I am already quite excited to see the tulips in our garden. It is not a long wait anymore because in a month or two,  I will surely be seeing my flowers  in our garden.

Varieties of orchids in the garden center.
This is only one good thing because when I really get  bored, which is  seldom to happen, I always look at the flowers in  my photo albums. If not, I also drive to the nearest garden center. Sometimes, I bring home flowers with me but most of the time, I don't really buy one. Our home is already full of  plants and decors. Every window has  plants and decors on it.  Except when it is spring  or summer,  I cannot say no to buying flowers.

Lovely bromeliads at the garden center. One of the flowers that I love.
One things I love doing when going to a garden center is to take photographs of the different flowers inside. I am glad that even the saleslady or salesman who caught me taking pictures would just say nothing. I am always happy coming home when I am done visiting a garden center.

More Christmas Decors

Before I put up my Christmas tree, I decided to buy new sets of  balls to  hang on it. I decided to put shades of gold, red and also white and silver colours.

I also put up our old  little  Christmas tree in our patio. Christmas season always reminds me of home but I have to accept the fact that I can also celebrate it  with family and friends in  second home here in Europe.

For next year's  holiday season, I would love to decorate more  because I bought some more  Christmas balls that are on sale. What a really great deal we had yesterday.

Happy holidays to all!

Christmas Tree is Up!

Hello December!  I can already  feel  the spirit of the  holiday season. This morning when I was taking my teatime, I heard  some Christmas songs played over the radio.  Oh yes, I still listen to the radio everyday especially when I am cooking in our kitchen.

And finally, after some days and weeks of busyness,  our Christmas tree is finally up!  Last month was really a busy month. With all the home improvements that we  are doing from time to time,  our little home will be a more comfortable place to live in.

After  the renovation of our bathroom, I started to put- up  our Christmas tree. This time, I just hung red, gold and white Christmas balls. It is a simply tree but I am happy to always see it everyday before Christmas days comes.  I always miss home during Christmas. There is the best  place to celebrate it.

Her eis my simply Christmas tree this year! Happy Holidays!

Cacti in Our Window

I love all kinds of plants and flowers..whatever kind of plant it is, I believed it still posses it's own beauty and charm. That is how crazy I am about plants and flowers. It is just so sad that in Germany I can't go gardening the whole year because or winter time. Unlike in the Philippines where all year round, almost kinds of plants and flowers can grow.

Anyway, my husband told me that our house is now a little forest because almost all windows have plants or flowers in it..I love it though and my husband can't do anything about it...wink!! How I wish I can have a winter garden!!..but it is too expensive here in Germany to have it...hmmm!!!...any donations???? just kidding..

guess that's all for now..have a great day to all especially to all nature lovers out there!!

I guess I have around 8 kinds of cacti in our house. I love them because they don't consume too much space.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cactus

A cactus (plural: cacti, the word derives from Greek, thus the Latin plural "cacti" is etymologically inappropriate, though it is frequently used nonetheless as is otherwise singular "cactus") is any member of the succulent plant family Cactaceae, native to the Americas. They are often used as ornamental plants, but some are also crop plants.

Cacti are distinctive and unusual plants, which are adapted to extremely arid and hot environments, showing a wide range of anatomical and physiological features which conserve water. Their stems have expanded into green succulent structures containing the chlorophyll necessary for life and growth, while the leaves have become the spines for which cacti are so well known.

Cacti come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. The tallest is Pachycereus pringlei, with a maximum recorded height of 19.2 m, and the smallest is Blossfeldia liliputiana, only about 1 cm diameter at maturity. Cactus flowers are large, and like the spines and branches arise from areoles. Many cactus species are night blooming, as they are pollinated by nocturnal insects or small animals, principally moths and bats. Cacti range in size from small and globular to tall and columnar.
